GO HOME
That’s right – when the day ends at 3:08 P.M., UTLA is asking folks to leave campus. The boycott currently includes faculty, department, SLC, and any other unpaid after school meetings. (Not included are council meetings or parent conferences…or PDs during the regular school day)
This is to show unity, solidarity, and our determination to get a good contract out of the district. The main points on the table are:
• class size reduction
• a real raise
• increased local governance power for our councils (e.g. administrative selection)
• decreased counselor to student ratios (among other things)
• no take backs or added work days
This is not about our local site administration, this is about the district.
So this Tuesday, and all the Tuesday’s that follow, vacate the campus at the end of the regular work day. Talk to your neighbor, your department fellows, spread the word.
As the faculty meetings are planned to be period-by-period on January 23rd , there will be additional information distributed as to how activities will proceed. Keep an eye out for it!
